Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday is the flip-tastic day of the week where you post a brief spoiler-free sentence from your current read into the hallowed pages of your blog for other tease-minded bloggers to read (and hopefully get some inspiration for other books to add to their ever-growing TBR shelves).

My tease today comes from a very heavy-to-read, but easy-to-enjoy book: The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. This book about an enigmatic and elusive author who decides to finally reveal her origins to an equally-reclusive biographer is delightfully meta and full of bookish references and sensations.
"Still, a doctor's wife apparently dead in the music room was a problem he couldn't ignore. If it had been one of us... But an outsider. That was another matter," (p. 107).
What's your tease for the day?

Awesome teaser. I've seen this book at the bookstore, and I've heard a bit about it. Somehow it never piqued my interest until this teaser. I think that's true with too many books, though, which is why Teaser Tuesday gets me in trouble.
