Back in May I posted that I was participating in the Books on the Nightstand Beowulf on the Beach Reading Challenge.
And I did.
I selected to read Middlemarch by George Eliot, and committed that I'd do it under the challenge's directions--between Fourth of July and Labor Day--as a way to embrace that even classics can be considered great "beach reads."
I did actually take up until Tuesday, September 8, to finish, but at 613 pages (in addition to scads of other reading), that was a lot to get through, so I still feel that I get to give myself a gold star for finishing the challenge.
Check back later this weekend because I'll be posting a combo review of Middlemarch and Beowulf on the Beach.
